We will pick you up from your hotel around 6 a.m. to begin a tour of the impressive Sacred Valley of the Incas. After a 2-hour drive, we will stop in Ollantaytambo for breakfast and rest. Then, we will head to Abra Malaga Pass, at 4,350 meters, where we will begin our exciting downhill biking adventure to Santa Maria at 1,430 meters. You will receive the necessary equipment and a training session before setting off, enjoying spectacular views, including the snow-capped peak of Veronica, and stopping at the Inca site of Huamanmarca for lunch and exploration. Afterward, we will drive to Santa Maria, where an afternoon of rafting on the White River awaits. Upon arrival, you will check into your accommodation, relax, and shower before enjoying a delicious dinner at a local restaurant.
After a delicious breakfast, we will begin our first day of trekking to Santa Teresa. We will ascend in the first two hours, making stops to learn about the local flora and fauna. We will visit a family’s home to learn about their customs. Then, we will walk part of the historic Inca Trail, which used to link Machu Picchu with Vilcabamba, while our guide will show us how to get there, shares details about the Inca history and their communication network. During the tour, we will enjoy breathtaking views of the Huancarccasa Canyon and Salkantay Mountain. Later, we will descend to Quellomayo for a revitalizing lunch and a rest in the restaurant’s hammocks. With renewed energy, we will walk the last two hours to the thermal baths of Cocalmayo, where we will relax in its hot waters. Finally, we will hike 45 minutes to Santa Teresa, where we will spend the night in a cozy lodge and have dinner at a local restaurant.
After breakfast at 8:00 a.m., you will be transferred to the zip line base for a thrilling 2-hour adventure, which includes four zip lines and a suspension bridge. After the adrenaline rush, you will take a one-hour shuttle to Hidroeléctrica, where you will enjoy lunch. Then, you will embark on a 3-hour scenic hike along the train tracks to Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and relax. At 7:00 p.m., enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.
After breakfast, we head to the bus station to begin the trip to Machu Picchu. Once inside, you will start a 2-hour guided tour. Afterward, you will have free time to explore and take photos, and if you have booked in advance, you can climb Huayna Picchu, Machu Picchu Mountain, or hike to the Sun Gate. When you finish, you will descend to Aguas Calientes for lunch on your own before taking the train to Ollantaytambo, where a tourist transport will take you back to Cusco.
